Poetry Day #10

Today’s prompt is something I had never heard of, no real surprise there. We are to write hay(na)ku poems…….not haiku which I love and will still write one today – but a hay(na)ku which is three lines like this:

Word

Two words

Then three words

That’s it. That’s all there is to it.

Sometimes poetry

Is a formidable task

Other times it’s not

Cairns

This

Is the

First silly prompt

In

My own

Completely irrelevant opinion

Although

They remind

Me of cairns

Which

Is just

A bit interesting

I

Could do

This all day

But

I’d rather

Watch the mallards

Float

On our

Quaint little pond
