In talking with Heather Smith Tucker and deciding that we will go see a couple of the films at Ebertfest -- the topic of clowns came up. One of the films is a silent movie about a man whose life sucks, so he joins the circus as a clown. His act involves him being slapped repeatedly. I am terrified of clowns. I like the premise of this film. I think they should remake it, because today they could also kick him in the balls repeatedly. That would be a good film.

On Friday I was in Peoria at the Bass Pro shop, and my niece and I were playing the hunting video game - we were hunting white tails - you also had other choices - you could have chosen elk, big horn sheep --- they really should add clowns to the list of choices - I would be all over that!!

There is a woman in my Rotary club that has been a clown - she is one of the nicest people on the planet. She is the ONLY exception to my clown rule - and I still don't want to see her in costume.

Emmitt Kelly was a sad clown........what the hell is up with that??
John Wayne Gacey was a clown.
