NaPoWriMo21 – April 9
Our (optional) prompt for the day is to write a poem in the form of a “to-do list.” The fun of this prompt is to make it the “to-do list” of an unusual person or character.
Charles In Charge
Upon waking do several stretching exercises
then roll on the new rug
make my way to the door, in my time
reminding them who is in charge
take a leisurely stroll around the yard
do not come when I am called
they have to learn
jump around to make sure they know
that I am truly starving
after finishing my bowl
attempt sneaking food out of the big bowl
being careful not to lose another section
of my adorable floppy ears
go back outside to continue sniffing
hoping to catch a steamy turd today
a guy has to have goals
sleep away the day
pretend to be deaf to avoid being
forced to go out in the rain
move to the big dog’s spot on the couch
refuse to budge until he calls a human
to aid him in getting his spot back
jump around again at dinnertime
try to find a gap in the new fence
if possible, escape
or go back in and get comfy
hopefully we have tv time
with snuggles and pets
try to kiss one of them on the lips
if time allows drag my butt on the carpet
if not today add to the list tomorrow
